Day 17: Versailles and the theatre

We woke to a cloudy day and quickly got ready to meet our guide for our day tour of Versailles on bikes. When we arrived in Versailles it started to rain, unfortunately for us our rain jackets were back in the apartment. While there were times that the rain stopped it did get worse in the afternoon so it was a cold wet day but we did enjoy ourselves and the kids loved being on a bike.

Entertainment on the train!!!

Getting our bikes

The palace in the background

Happy to have a poncho to keep a little bit dry

All throughout the gardens there are hundreds of lined trees like this, beautiful.

The farm area where Marie Antoinette would go during the day to relax.

A rabbit so fluffy it is not always easy to tell which end is which.

Our picnic lunch which was unfortunately cut short when the rain started again

The back of the palace

The fountains which were played with music

Going into the palace, almost everything had gold on it and the ceilings were amazing.

The hall of mirrors

We had just enough time to get back to Paris and shower and change and walk through the rain to the theatre, we saw The King and I, it was brilliant.

Our first glimpse of the eiffel tower in the distance, Malayah squealed with delight

Burgers at midnight.
