Looking towards Mt Vesuvius, the volcano that erupted and wiped out the town.
In the town square
A mold of bones and plaster of the remains of a person killed in the eruption.
The takeaway shop
The floor of one of the more wealthy houses
The Bakery
Grooves in the road from the wagons, you can see where the groove stops, this is where they were up to in repairing the road when the volcano erupted
The Tavern
As everything drained into the street these stepping stones were used to cross the street without getting your sandals wet
It was then back in the car to head for the Amalfi Coast.
We were then taken to a restaurant high in the hills for lunch, the road was extremely narrow and windy, it seemed impossible that two cars could fit past each other but somehow we made it there in one piece! The restaurant was amazing, run by a local family who grow and cook all of the produce they serve in the restaurant including the wine. The view was amazing, the food was amazing.
We then headed down into Positano and the kids had a quick swim at the beach.
We the had just enough time for a quick stop in Sorrento.
It was a long and tiring but an absolutely amazing day.
