Day 13: Rome, the Collseum, Roman Forum and Piazza Navona

This morning i had to drag everyone out of bed at 8am to get ready to be at the Colloseum half and hour before our scheduled tour. We had a 30 minute walk to the Colloseum, which was nice in the shade but very hot in the sun.

The Roman Forum, by now the kids were getting a bit over it all, it was very hot and we had barely stopped walking.

We made our way towards Piazza Navona for some pizza and gelato. I had Tartufo a chocolate gelato covered in bits of chocolate and topped with cream...yum (i forgot to get photo)

In the afternoon we walked the short distance to Piazza Del Popolo and watched the Italy world cup game...

The kids and i went to dinner while Sam was with an old friend,we struggled through an Italian menu and picked what to eat only to find out just before we ordered that Isaac had an english menu!! A quick look at the enlgish menu and we discovered there was a pizza that was fries and hotdog as the topping (umm yuk!!!) and also that the pizza we had been going to order was topped with anchovies so will no longer trust my italian!!
